Al Nile Advanced Building Materials Co. is a manufacturer based in Cairo specializing in PVC pipes and profiles for the local construction market. With increasing demand for outdoor decking materials from new resort developments along the Red Sea coast and Nile riverside residential projects, the company planned to diversify its product range by introducing a dedicated WPC (Wood-Plastic Composite) outdoor flooring profile extrusion line.
After technical communication regarding product specifications, material formulation, and production requirements, a customized WPC decking profile production solution was proposed to support stable and continuous manufacturing with local raw material adaptation.
The production line operates steadily and produces WPC decking profiles with consistent shape and surface texture. The extrusion process is stable even with varying wood powder moisture content, and the equipment is easy to operate for our production team. The technical support during installation and the clear communication throughout the project were very helpful in getting the line running smoothly.
What impressed us most was how the line adapted to our local date palm wood flour. We initially worried about supply consistency, but the extruder handles moisture variations from 8% to 15% without issue. Our first batch of decking is already installed at a Red Sea resort, and the client specifically requested the "natural palm grain" look.
| Metric | Result |
|---|---|
| Monthly productioncapacity | 55 tons |
| Local raw material ratio |
70% (PE recycled materials + date palm flour) |
| Cost reduction vs. imported decking | 40% |
| Agricultural waste utilized annually | 180 tons |
| Resort projects supplied in first year | 3 |
The extrusion system was selected according to the WPC material characteristics and the required production capacity. The screw configuration ensures stable plasticizing and uniform material flow for profile forming, accommodating the high filling ratio of wood flour. A forced feeding device is added to prevent bridging with low-bulk-density palm flour.
The profile mould was designed based on the customer's decking profile drawing, including solid and hollow core options. Accurate flow channel design helps maintain consistent profile shape and smooth surface quality during extrusion, with integrated surface texturing for anti-slip finish. The hollow-core version reduces material usage by 18% while maintaining load-bearing capacity.
A dedicated calibration and cooling system was integrated to ensure stable profile shaping under local high-temperature conditions. The vacuum calibration table features enhanced water circulation capacity (30% above standard) to compensate for elevated cooling water temperatures in summer months.
The haul-off unit provides stable pulling force synchronized with the extrusion speed, ensuring smooth production and preventing deformation of the profile during processing. Rubber-block caterpillar design protects the embossed surface texture.
The cutting unit performs precise length cutting, with automatic stacking for efficient downstream handling of finished decking boards. A dust collection interface is included for connection to the workshop's central vacuum system, managing palm flour dust.
